Bosphorus,  which  he  filled  with  fine
        buildings and other ornaments.
        Heretofore it had been called Byzantium,
        but now he called it after his own name,
        and  made  it  a  place  of  great  state  and
        power, fixing his abode there, and leaving
        in  Rome  his  vicars  to  keep  the  city  and
        the empire by arms.
